Say Folgore! does it make you roll your tongue? In a recent press conference CEO of Maserati, Davide Grasso, told reporters that the Italian auto outfit has been hit by Folgore.
Folgore is an Italian term for lightening. Grasso said the company will bring the era of internal combustion engine to an end by 2025, because by then people will simply not be interested in them.

The Maserati GranTurismo EV
This next generation Maserati GranTurismo 2+2 coupe and GranCabrio will offer the brand’s first fully electrified model, with Formula E inverters.
The company executives say it will have more than 1,200 horsepower, a top speed of over 187 mph for a zero-to-60 mph time under seconds.
The GranTurismo, will have a lightweight body and a low center of gravity, giving it a great deal of balance. Consumers will have the freedom to choose either a GT model with a V-6 engine or an EV with three motors.
The Maserati Quattroporte, Levante, MC20
What other car has been struck by lightening? The flagship Quattroporte sedan will become an electric sedan by 2025, thus revolutionizing the world of of luxury cars.
The Levante full size SUV will also become all electric in 2025, as well.
Mesarati engineers are working tirelessly to ensure that the unique sound of Mesarati is retained in the new EVs to be rolled out.

The Maserati Folgore plan is part of a larger Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 plan recently announced in Armsterdam.
The nine year long strategy will see 14 brands transitioned into electric vehicle while doubling the auto maker’s revenue, with the ultimate goal of reducing EV costs by 40%.
