These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of DetailedVehicleHistory.com (the “Website”) and any related services, reports, products, tools, content, and features (collectively, the “Services”) provided by Vehicle Databases Inc. (doing business as “Detailed Vehicle History”) (“Detailed Vehicle History,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using the Website or Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy (available on our Website). If you do not agree, do not use the Website or Services.

2) Eligibility and Account Responsibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use our Services.
If you create an account, you agree to:
  • Provide accurate and current information
  • Maintain the security of your login credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
We may suspend or terminate accounts at any time if we reasonably believe there is fraud, misuse, policy violations, or security risk.

3) What We Provide

We provide VIN-based vehicle information services including:
  • Vehicle history reports
  • Window stickers (Monroney labels) 
Delivery: Most purchases are delivered via instant digital access/download. If delivery is delayed due to technical reasons, you agree to contact support first so we can resolve it.

4) License and Permitted Use

We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for lawful personal or internal business use consistent with these Terms.
You may use the Services only to evaluate vehicles that you:
  • own or lease, or have a legitimate interest in, or
  • are considering buying, selling, trading, leasing, or insuring

5) Prohibited Use

You agree you will not (and will not allow others to):
  • Copy, reproduce, republish, scrape, harvest, sell, sublicense, or redistribute any report, sticker, content, or data from the Services without written permission
  • Use bots, crawlers, spiders, scripts, or automated tools to access or extract content
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive methods, algorithms, data structures, or data sources
  • Use our Services to build or support a competing service or dataset
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person/entity
  • Upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, or disrupt Website functionality
  • Use the Services in any illegal manner
We may block access and take legal action if we detect abusive usage.

6) Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) Notice

You may not use our Services for purposes regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), including but not limited to:
  • employment decisions
  • tenant screening
  • credit eligibility
  • insurance eligibility decisions that require FCRA compliance
Our Services are not a “consumer reporting agency” product under the FCRA.

7) Orders, Pricing, and Payment

All prices are shown at checkout and may change at any time.
You authorize us (and our payment processors) to charge the payment method you provide for purchases made through the Website.
Payments are processed by third-party providers such as Stripe and PayPal. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

8) Digital Product Delivery and Access

Because reports and stickers are digital goods:
  • You are responsible for entering the correct VIN and purchase details
  • Your download link or access may be tied to your account/email
  • We may limit access if fraud or abuse is suspected
If your report does not generate or you cannot access it, contact support first so we can troubleshoot and deliver.

9) Refunds & Disputes (Optimized + Clear)

We offer refunds only under the conditions below. Once a report or sticker has been generated and delivered for a VIN, it is generally non-refundable except where required by law or where explicitly stated below.

A) Vehicle History Reports

A refund may be approved in the following cases:

  • Duplicate charges for the same VIN purchase

If you paid multiple times for the same report within 14 days, we will refund the duplicate charge(s) after verification.

  • Non-delivery / Report did not generate

If payment is successful but the report fails to generate, and our support team cannot deliver the report within 48 hours after you contact us, we will issue a refund to the original payment method.

A refund will not be granted solely because:
  • the report contains limited data (data availability varies by vehicle and reporting sources)
  • you dislike or disagree with the results
  • the vehicle has an unfavorable history
  • information is missing due to unreported events

B) Window Stickers

A refund may be approved in the following cases:

  • Technical failure / Non-delivery

If technical issues prevent generation and we cannot resolve within 48 hours after you contact support, a full or partial refund may be issued depending on the work completed.

  • Duplicate sticker purchase

Accidental duplicate purchases for the same vehicle may be eligible for refund after verification.

  • Unable to provide an eligible/accurate sticker after revisions

If multiple reasonable revisions are attempted within 24–48 hours and we still cannot provide an accurate sticker for an eligible vehicle, we may issue a full or partial refund depending on the case.

C) Refund Request Window

Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of purchase and must include:
  • the email used at checkout
  • VIN (if applicable)
  • transaction/order details
  • a clear reason for request
We aim to review eligible requests within 7 business days.

D) Chargebacks

If you file a chargeback without contacting support first, we may:
  • suspend your account
  • restrict access to Services
  • provide transaction logs, IP logs, and access/download records to the payment processor as evidence

10) Intellectual Property

All content, reports, formatting, trademarks, logos, and Website materials are owned by Detailed Vehicle History or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not use our branding, reports, or content commercially without written consent.

11) Third-Party Services and Links

The Website may reference or link to third-party tools or websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.
Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

12) Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services and content are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including:
  • merchantability
  • fitness for a particular purpose
  • non-infringement
  • accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data
We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

13) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Detailed Vehicle History will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Services.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid for the specific purchase giving rise to the claim.

14) Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Detailed Vehicle History, its affiliates, employees, contractors, suppliers, and licensors from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from:
  • your misuse of the Services
  • your violation of these Terms
  • your infringement of any third-party rights

15) Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or misused the platform.
Upon termination, you must stop using the Services and delete copies of any content not permitted for retention.

16) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The updated version will be posted on the Website with a new “Last Updated” date.
Your continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

17) Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York, New York, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.

18) Class Action Waiver

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree that disputes will be brought only on an individual basis, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, representative, consolidated, or mass action.

19) Miscellaneous

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms + Privacy Policy form the complete agreement regarding your use of the Services.
  • Severability: If any part is invalid, the rest remains enforceable.
  • No Waiver: Failure to enforce a term is not a waiver.
  • Assignment: We may assign these Terms without notice; you may not without written consent.
