Recall Summary
Mobility Transportation (Mts) Is Recalling Certain Model Year 2007 Through 2009 Conversion Vans Built On Ford E150, E250, And E350 Chassis From September 16, 2008 Through April 15, 2009 And Fitted With Ricon Public Use Lifts. The Restraint Belt On These Lifts Was Designed To Prevent The Lift From Moving, Unless The Tongue Of The Belt Is Fully Engaged And Latched In The Buckle. Ricon Has Discovered, However, That It Is Possible For The Operator To Insert The Belt Tongue Into The Buckle Without Fully Engaging The Latching Mechanism. In This Case, The Restraint Belt Would Appear To Be Latched, And The Operator Could Run The Lift. If The Restraint Belt Tongue Is Not Fully Engaged Into The Restraint Belt Buckle, And Latched, The Lift May Operate With An Occupant On The Platform.
Recall Consequences
The User Of The Lift Could Be Injured Should The Lift Move Without The Restraint Belt Properly Buckled.

Frequently Asked Questions about Ford
How are VIN numbers stamped?
VIN numbers are typically stamped onto a metal plate, which is then attached to the vehicle. The stamping process involves using a series of dies to imprint the alphanumeric characters onto the plate. This plate is often affixed to the dashboard near the windshield, on the driver’s side door frame, or in the engine compartment. The stamping is done in a way that ensures durability and longevity, making the VIN easily readable throughout the vehicle’s lifespan.
How do you read a VIN number year?
The 10th digit of the VIN represents the vehicle’s model year. You can identify the model year of any vehicle using our free VIN decoder. If you have a VIN number year chart, you can also identify the model year of any vehicle by cross-checking the 10th digit with the chart.
Does the VIN number tell the manufacture date?
Yes, the VIN number provides information about the vehicle’s manufacture date. The easiest way to find the manufacture date of any Ford is by decoding the VIN number. Our VIN decoder effectively checks the model year of the vehicle for free. Enter or scan the VIN into the form above to get started.
Can VIN number tell engine size?
Yes, the VIN number can provide information about the engine size. The Vehicle Descriptor Section (VDS), which consists of digits 4 through 9 in the VIN, includes codes that specify details such as the engine type, model, and body style. By decoding these digits, you can gather information about your vehicle’s engine size. You can also check the engine size on any vehicle using our free VIN decoder.
How do Ford VIN numbers work?

With the VIN, you can view the year, make, model, engine specifications, transmission, and other vehicle specifications. You can also check for theft records, accident records, damage records, lien and loan records, ownership history, mileage readings, and more.
