Brake/Control-Module Electrical Shorts
KIA Recall covered certain models and years from roughly 2010 through 2019, including some of the Carens, Cerato, Optima, Sorento, Sportage, Soul, Rio, and Rondo, after NHTSA found the HECU/ABS circuit could short and ignite an engine-bay fire. Owners were told to park outside until dealers inspected, repaired, or replaced the affected control unit.
Front Power-Seat Motor Overheating
In June 2024, A Kia recall covers over 460,000 of 2020–2024 Telluride SUVs. A stuck seat slide knob can keep the front power-seat motor running, overheat it, and cause a fire (parked or driving).
