Summary

The 2019 Ford Transit 250 Base is a versatile cargo or passenger van that prioritizes interior space and customization options. With various wheelbases, body lengths, and roof heights to choose from, as well as the ability to configure it with a chassis or cutaway cab, the Transit can be tailored to fit your specific needs. Despite its plain exterior, the Transit offers a comfortable ride for long journeys. The 2019 model features wider doors in some configurations, but remains largely unchanged from previous years. Base vans come with vinyl seats and durable interior materials, but cloth seats and audio systems are available as options. The Transit can accommodate up to 15 passengers including the driver, and offers either a 130- or 148-inch wheelbase. Powering the Transit is a choice of three engines: a 3.7-liter V6 with 275 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 with 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, or a 3.2-liter 5-cylinder turbodiesel with 185 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. All engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and offer rear-wheel drive. In terms of fuel efficiency,

Frequently Asked Questions about Ford

How are VIN numbers stamped?

VIN numbers are typically stamped onto a metal plate, which is then attached to the vehicle. The stamping process involves using a series of dies to imprint the alphanumeric characters onto the plate. This plate is often affixed to the dashboard near the windshield, on the driver’s side door frame, or in the engine compartment. The stamping is done in a way that ensures durability and longevity, making the VIN easily readable throughout the vehicle’s lifespan.

How do you read a VIN number year?

The 10th digit of the VIN represents the vehicle’s model year. You can identify the model year of any vehicle using our free VIN decoder. If you have a VIN number year chart, you can also identify the model year of any vehicle by cross-checking the 10th digit with the chart.

Does the VIN number tell the manufacture date?
